The Director of Strategic Planning: Domestic Operations offers training and operational planning expertise accrued from over 20 years of military and law enforcement experience. Mike has demonstrated success in leading dynamic teams in high stress, high risk, domestic and international operations producing high level results.

The Director of Strategic Planning: Domestic Operations offers training and operational planning expertise accrued from over 20 years of military and law enforcement experience. Mike has demonstrated success in leading dynamic teams in high stress, high risk, domestic and international operations producing high level results.

While serving internationally in the Balkans, Mike planned and implemented peace support operations while working closely with NATO military and police forces towards stabilizing local communities. In Afghanistan, he led a specialized team performing sensitive psychological operations in direct support of the Canadian Operational Mentioning and Liaison team, working with Afghan National Police and Army units. Based on the work Mike conducted, he was awarded a Canadian Expeditionary Force Commander Commendation.

Mike then returned to embed at the Afghanistan Army Command & Staff College to develop the planning capabilities of Afghan Military Officers. Through continuous mentoring of staff and critical analysis of performance, he rapidly developed the capacity and skills of Afghan instructors to deliver training well ahead of projected NATO timelines.

His academic accomplishments include a Master of Arts in Leadership & Training from Royal Roads University and attending select operations planning courses in both Canada and the United Kingdom.

Over the past five years, Mike’s professional focus has been on applying his experience domestically to complex strategic, operational and business planning issues. His expertise resides in guiding teams through challenging training and planning projects to meet federal, provincial, or institutionally mandated requirements.
